Have you ever thought about creating a vegetable garden in a bale of straw? Well, it’s not as crazy as it may sound. It even comes with certain advantages. No digging is required as the bales are placed right on the ground. They can also be placed on a patio or rocky surface. Congratulations to Teresa Robinson from Rock Rapids for winning the Easter Egg Hunt.

She found 4 of the 6 eggs.

She won a $25 Chamber gift certificate.

Previous Story:

There’s an egg hunt going on in Rock Rapids! Each day a clue will be given for a business that has hidden an egg for you to find. Figure out the clue and find the egg first. The person with the most eggs at the end of the week will receive chamber bucks. The hunt is sponsored by Retail Trade.

Easter Egg Hunt Clues:

Monday- S.T.A.R.T with US.

Tuesday- You see us on Tuesdays even though we are put together on Mondays.

Wednesday- I greet you in the morning & bid you farewell at night. Following my path from east to west will give you what you search for on your quest for a grade A place to nest.

Thursday- Come & see pretty as can be. Most have one, some have three. From the east in they come. Take them out, have some fun.

The eggs can only be found once — so once each egg is gone, it’s gone. Keep the egg or eggs you find and take them to the chamber office on Monday the 9th to see if you’re the winner!

On April 4, 2012 at approximately 2211 hours the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office investigated a car/deer accident.
